To Many Groomsmen!!

My future husband practical asked everyone he knows to be a groomsmen. 13 guys!! I could have killed him. Now here's my issue, besides how to have all these guys leave the church and come into the reception... my biggest wedding concern is the pictures. I'm worried that your not going to be able to see anyone's face. Can anyone recommend a photographer that did a great job with a large bridal party? The total for the bridal party is 25 including the two of us.

If you have pictures of a large bridal party that can help calm my nerves please post it!!! BTW, I only asked 7 girls.

I had a fairly large party - 8 BMs, 8 GMs, 1 FG, and 1 Jr GM. With us it added up to 20 people. I can see everyone's face in my pictures (but I'm not recommending my photographer). If you'd like to see pictures to ease your mind a bit, click here

Obviously this was a big issue for me when I was looking for a photographer, though, and I remember Patken also doing a rather good job with the larger bridal parties.

I know there have been a few threads on here where brides have discussed abnormally large BPs. Do a search for that and then look at the pictures those brides have since posted.

I have a friend who did this. Only I think it was 15 guys to 7 girls. The wedding was in Virginia so I can't help with the photographer, but I know there were quite a few shots taken of the entire bridal party together.

We are having 9 guys, 6 girls, flowergirl, ring bearer and a PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE!!!!

Seriously.......I am going to tell my photographer that not all BP members have to be in all the BP pictures. I am more concerned that someone will wander off during the photo session, go to the bathroom, or whatever and I don't want to wait for them. I will tell the photog. that if we get a great picture and someone is missing, so be it!! There will be enough pictures that each person will be captured somewhere!!! You could even pre-determine that you want the group split up for some photos.

A friend of mine had 12 girls and I can't remember how many guys. She said that nothing about having a big bridal party caused any problems!!!

Thanks so much for the advice. I am going to look at Patken. This is the second time someone has recommended them. I definitely agree with every shot doesn't have to have the whole BP in it.

How horrible am I ... I have secret hopes of some of his groomsmen backing out!!

wow that is big! I guess he was excited! Does he realize that not every guy he knows has to be in the bridal party? It's really a special honor. Is he really close to all 13?

Do not stress at all!! My brother had 5 guys and my sister in law had 12 girls and then they had a ring bearer and flower girl. The pictures came out superb!!

We too are having a large BP and that is why I am not worried b/c they did it already :)

I also have a big wedding party. 6 Girls/10 guys plus 2 flower girls and then us. I always am looking at pictures of big bridal parties. They all look great. There are ways that they make it work. Speak to your photgapher they may have suggestions.

they also stagger them and sometimes get them all in close....

seriously it works out. we have 20 people (incl. us) and we aren't concerend at all. and we have big burly guys too!

you'll be fine - I'd be more concerned with picking a GOOD photographer, period.
