Wedding at the *NORTH RITZ CLUB* last night!
So, FI and I had a wedding at NRC last night, and despite the icky weather, there was a nice turnout.
Unfortunately, due to work restriction and the weather, FI and I were about a half an hour late for the cocktail hour. A nice touch was that the valets were outside holding umbrellas for everyone getting out of the cars and walking them to the door so we wouldn't get wet.
We walked in, and the Bride and Groom were taking pictures in the foyer area. There was no one directing us, so we went straight the the lobby and into the bar area, and the adjoining room was were the cocktail hour was taking place. I couldn't find the coat check, so I just carried my trench coat into the room (ps - I found the coat check later when I went downstairs to the ladies room! LOL). I barely had time to eat because we got there so late, I was able to try the fried rice, eggplant and the fried calamari (all very good!).
When the CH was over, we moved into the reception room, which was beautiful and spacious. There was a DJ with a percussionist and saxophonist.
There was no appetizer, but our first course was a salad and it was SO good! It had cut apples, caramelized walnuts in it, with soft cheese (wasn't sure if it was gorgonzola but whatever, it was delicious) and I think cranberries in it. It was the first time I ever finished my salad at a wedding, it was that tasty. Loved it.
I had the Chateau Briand (or Filet Mignon) and that was delicious as well. It was cut like butter, perfectly done and the red potatoes has wonderful seasoning to them. The vegetables were carrots and asparagus which were wonderful as well.
They also had a Viennese hour, which we had to go back into where the cocktail hour was taken place. There were so many cakes, FI had a chocolate mousse cake which he wasn't too fond of, but I had a little dish of pistachio ice cream with caramel walnuts and I was a happy as a pig in mud. I also wanted a cappuccino but I missed the guy with them while he was walking around and I didn't see him again, so I got an espresso instead, with Bailey's.
Overall, I must say that the meal I had at NRC was delicious and we had a great time last night. But I definitely paying for it this morning!!! LOL
So anyone who has booked an affair there, the food was amazing!
