Teachers! How many days...
How many days off do you get for your wedding?
My local district gives the bride/groom 3 days.
FH doesn't know how many his district gives - he's calling tomorrow.
Just wondering....whats the norm?

i don't work for any district - MIL is a union secretary, and said that Kings Park teachers get 3 days off for their wedding.

In my district, you have to use your personal day(s)/sick days. I wanted the full 2 week honeymoon, so I was a summer bride!

none, we have to use our own personal days. Thats why I had mine in the middle of the summer and others arrange it right before a holiday.

I've never heard of this either. As far as I know my district doesn't give any ...those that do you are really lucky..that's awesome! We're getting married the Friday before my Spring break next year.

In my district we are not allowed to take any days for our own wedding, it is written in our contract! Yes even our personal or sick time. I wasn't feeling well the day after my wedding.

My district doesn't give any, in fact they will dock you pay if you take off before or after a holiday. You are lucky if they do.

We don't get days off to get married. I guess they feel that we get enough of a vacation, and I can get married then. We always can take our 4 personal days whenever, so I guess that's the answer. I know teachers in my district who took off the school year for their wedding, and they were docked after the 4 personal days.

We don't get any days and have to use our personal days but they are very strict about when. For ex... we can't take days before or after holiday vacations. If we do, we get docked and a letter goes in our file...
