Dress-when to order
My wedding is one year away...when should I order my dress.? I am going to Kleinfeld this Friday, I would love to find the dress, but I counting on spending a few weeks looking.

I think you'll be okay as long as you order within the next few weeks. I believe it depends on the designer of the gown. some can take up to 9 months or so while others will come in sooner.
I ordered mine a few weeks ago, she said it could take 7 months but I'm hearing it won't be anywhere near that.

I WAS TOLD FOR THE DESIGNER THAT I PICKED WOULD TAKE TEN MONTHS. I THINK IT ALL DEPENDS WHO IT IS. I WOULD DO IT SOON

Be careful about ordering your gown. I just booked my wedding for next May last month and when I went gown shopping for the last two weeks I was told there were certain designers that I could not get because they would not be in on time. Fortunately those designers were not on my list anyway, but you never know!

It all depends on what designer you want. For example, Eve of Milady wants at least 12-15 months to put in an order. I don't know how entirely true that is, or if it depends on the time of the year that you order.
My dress came in after 9-10 months! Plenty of time for my summer 2006 wedding but yes, i did order it at the end of 2004!

I'm going dress shopping for the first time this weekend and I was worried I was too early. Hearing that it could take so long, I'm a bit relieved! If I find something I love, I plan on ordering it right away! Good luck!!!

I ordered exactly a year before my wedding (July) and was told 5-6 months. My dress was in the beginning of September! I would order soon though. You never know!
