A-Line Gowns and Bustles

For any past brides with Aline gowns, could you please tell me how it was bustled or post pictures?

Thanks in advance

Re: A-Line Gowns and Bustles

don't have pics yet, but my gown is A-line and will have a French bustle

ETA: It is not the cut of the dress that determines the bustle, it's the fabric and beadwork.

Shows how much I know!

Does your dress have a lot of work/beading at the bottom? Mine does and I have no idea HOW it's going to be bustled...

Re: A-Line Gowns and Bustles

I had an A-line gown and I had a "regular" bustle. It was 5 buttons in sort of a row and once it was hooked on it looked like you folded it over. I apologize, I don't have a pic of the back. HTH

Re: A-Line Gowns and Bustles

if you go into the store, they can probably show you what different bustles would look like on your dress and you can decide which one you like the most. when i was trying on dresses, i would ask them to show me different bustles so i could consider that factor since the dress will be bustled for most of the night.

Most of the beadwork on my dress is on the back, but not on the bottom. Your seamstress would definitely be the one to determine which bustle would be best for your dress.

Mine has a LOT of "stuff" going on! She's doing what I'm calling a 3pt bustle...I really have no clue what it's really called....
The pic I have for some reason only has the two showing (from 1st fitting), but I can FM you the pic if you're interested.

Re: A-Line Gowns and Bustles

I'll try to post pics (if they are the right size of the dress and side view of bustle,), don't have a great pic of my bustle though (only in proofs, not scanned). Bustle was simple, straight up back with one snap (needed to add two pins to it at reception since I danced a lot and it kept falling!)

Re: A-Line Gowns and Bustles

mine was bustled so that the beadwork could still be seen. It wasnt bustled under, it was bustled over. They picked up the dress right where the beadwork started on my train and buttoned it. I don't have a very good pic atm.
