where can i donate books?
hello..i am moving and have a ton of books. encyclopedias..college text, fiction..non-fiction home help books etc...
My library and surrounding branches will not take donations. I live in Brooklyn and work on the north shore of Nassau. Does anyone know of any places that would take them?
I don't want to sell them and am only interested in a place where I could drop off.

I know the Garden City library branch takes donations. They have a big grey cart on wheels at the front door where you can drop them. Some of the other Nassau branches may take them as well - call and find out. I know the town I used to live in had a big sale twice a year and would take them for a few weeks before the sale.

Any thrift store probably would. I donate to my local church thrift store, but synagogues near me also have thrift shops.

LOL..I have a set of worldbook encyclopedias..they are from the 60's I think those will be left for the sanitation dept!
