Macy's Registry - Returns

Ok I dont have much time to tackle this issue, but I was hoping I could get some insight....I'm registered at Macy's for my engagement party and am about to send out my invites.
The Scenario is: I might move to Florida and might have some problems transporting my items! My dad says I should just ask for $ (Great in theory, right?) ->My reasoning is that I like the idea of getting gifts that I will appreciate and enjoy and would not necessarily buy myself (I know I will just end up saving the money and not really use it to treat myself to buying nice things).
I don't know if I should risk driving my fragile items down, find a way to return the items I get without receipts, only return breakables for store credit??? uh....I don't know! Please let me know what you think!

if you know some one who lives down there a family memeber or close freind and you deff know you are going to move I would ask them if you can use there address :):)
