Breakfast for OOT guests

Is anyone having a breakfast for the OOT guests staying at the hotel the next day after your wedding?

I thought it would be a nice gesture, but it is kind of expensive.

Just wanted to see if it is a "Must Do"

don't bother, they are awful people!!!!

Re: Breakfast for OOT guests

I have been toying with the idea forever, but there are just too many people!

I think we are going to skip it, and no, it isn't mandatory.

Re: Breakfast for OOT guests

Not a must do -- my parents are hosting a next day brunch at their place. They're catering it, so it will still cost $ and I think they will also rent tables and chairs, but people can come and go when they want and people can linger. My parents also thought it would be nice for FH's fam to be able to spend some time with them visiting since they are from OOT and they thought it would be nice for our friends to be able to relax too. FH and I are planning on leaving for the HM after this so that we can see people too!

Don't mean to hijack -- but think about other possibilities. I don't really think my folk's brunch will be less than what it cost at a hotel, but I do think it cuold be.... (if that makes any sense)

Re: Breakfast for OOT guests

The one thing I didn't like about the HH was that we only had a choice for either our guests to spend $179 on their rooms so that it included breakfast or $159 without breakfast. we didn't want to force anyone to have to eat breakfast, especially for those leaving early the next am. My parents are going to be down at the restaurant and said they would pay for people as they see them.

I wish they would include it in the price.
I just don't feel like shelling out another $25 per person for eggs.

Re: Breakfast for OOT guests

yes, FMIL is paying for it because she's the one who really wants it. it's $12.95 pp i think at the holiday inn in westbury for a full hot breakfast. continental breakfast is included with the rooms

Re: Breakfast for OOT guests

We did it but we had a LOT of OOT guests. It was definitely more expensive than I originally thought it would be because in addition to the per person charge for food, they charged us about $200 for the room itself!

my FMIL is doing an OOT breakfast at the hotel on the day of the wedding. so I guess I won't be there this is in place of a rehearsal dinner since we're not having one.
