what should i do about my credit card bills..

when im away..should i tell my credit companies that i willl be away for 2 weeks? do you think they will extend the time for me?

As far as I know, creditors don't care if you're in Iraq...they want they're money when it's due. Most companies have an automated payment system wherein you can specify when you want the payment deducted/applied, etc. That may be an option.

I agree w/the above posts. You can send your payment in early or you can set up an automatic w/drawal.

Otherwise, leave money with someone you trust that can send it out for you.

You can have your due date changed, but sometimes it does not take affect until the next cycle. Sometimes they do not change the date for you either.

I would leave your check book with some one you trust. Sign a couple of checks for them to mail if needed.

I dont think that 2 weeks is really long enough to stress about this

I pay all bills online and have it set to pay on a certain date. Does your bank offer that? I have Chase and I just left Citibank but they both do it.

I wrote out all my checks and sealed then in their respective envelopes and left them w/my dad and gave him a date to mail them because I knew I would have the money in my account by a specific date...it worked out really well...eveyone got paid on time.
