Anyone know what time does the park open?
I am planning to take a picture in the morning before my ceremony.

I just called them this afternoon, they said I can have my wedding picture taking at 8 AM but I need a permit.
Had anyone take a picture in the morning? and how did u get a permit?

My ceremony was at 11:30 and we were at the Arboretum at 10:00 taking pictures and did not need a permit. IMO 8AM is too early to take pics...You really do not need more than an hour for pics there--I think we had a half hour or 45 mins and got hundreds of pics taken there. Even if you need 1/2 hour to get to Watermill, if you get to Oakdale at 9, take an hour of pics, then leave, you'd be all set.

We took pictures at the Planting Fields and I think we paid about $125 for a permit and I got it the day of right at the front gate. I think they like you to get it ahead of time, but my photographers told me to wait until the day of, because if it rained I would have been out the money.

Thank you for all your input 
I know it's kind of too early. I wish I can delay my ceremony.
I am planning to take a picture in both place ( bayard w/ bridal party ) and at watermill.
What do you think? Do you think I have enough time since my ceremony is in the morning at 11.15?

I just got the letter from the Arboretum indicating that:
"Effective April 1, 2006 a new policy will be in effect. Photographers will be required to obtain a commercial photography permit and pay a fee. Weddings arriving at the park after April 1st without the proper permits will not be permitted to enter and therefore it is imperative that you follow through on these changes if you wish to have your pictures taken here."
ETA: Couldn't upload a scan of the letter. Call 631-581-1002 for further info...
