Need HELP!!! Photographer Issues

Did/Is anyone having just wedding photos taken in color and then having the photographer alter the prints to make some black and white? My dad just called me to say that the photographer said it will take too much time to switch between color and black and white (film/camera) so they will take all shots, which are digital, in color and then alter any one I want to black and white. I'm getting really nervous about this. Having black and white pics is very important to me and FI, especially the pics at the arboretum. I'm scared the black and white pics won't turn out well if they are changed to black and white in the studio and not originally taken as black and white. Does anyone have any experience with this? Am I crazy for freaking out? TIA.

- I have to change this to say what do YOU want film or digital? - if you want film then they MUST change the film - I never heard of a photographer saying it is too much work to switch - mine are switching -


I would see a potential problem if your wedding was shot in film and then altered later - since B&W film is unique in style - but if it is all digital it is all digital -

If your photographer is shooting in digital then it doesn't matter.

If it's film then that is another story. Like the above poster said-color film vs. B&W film is totally different. I have never heard of a photographer saying that it is too much trouble to switch. Usually I have seen them carry around 2 cameras. Or if there is more than one photographer one shoots in color and the other B&W.
