Britney gave birth to a Boy today
Report: Britney Spears has baby boy

NEW YORK - Britney Spears has given birth to a baby boy, Us Weekly reported.
The baby was born Wednesday by Caesarean section at the Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center in California, the magazine said. No other details were available.
A call to Spears' publicist by The Associated Press wasn't immediately returned.
It is the first child for the 23-year-old pop star and her husband, Kevin Federline. Federline, 27, has two children with ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson.

I've always wondered if it's considered "giving birth" if it's not a vaginal birth...I don't know, I just thought it sounded odd that she "gave birth" when she didn't...but I guess she did bring another human into the world. OK, I'm not making sense.
Congrats to Brit and Kev...parents of the year - fo sure!

I don't think of giving birth solely as the actual way you have a child. I think of it more as the whole process.

Nobody knows why she decided to have a c-section but her and her family. To judge people because they make a choice that works for them and has nothing to do with anyone else just seems harsh.
Anyway, her show was cancelled (thatnk goodness)after like 2 episodes so I don't think that was a motive.

No..the full article states that SHE said she wanted to avoid the pain of natural childbirth...and she was having it filmed for her show.

Why would anyone choose to have a c/s. That worse then natural childbirth. They remove your insides, stomach, liver everything to get to the baby, then they put it back. If your luck, they put it back right. A c/s should be done only if your doctor so. I'm hoping that was the case for her.

elective c/s is becoming more and more popular- as birth is treated as a medical condition and not as something our bodies are made to do. Denise Richards also did that so she would 'know that her baby was born during her husband's break from his show tapings". it is a highly charged debate topic...but since women can chose to to have breast implants and other surgeries for "beauty" it is hard to agrue against them chosing the method of their birth.

I also read that her mom had scared her so much about the pain of natural childbirth that she chose to have a CS. Odd reason, but having never been pregnant, I should probably just shut up...
However, I fear for that child. lots of therapy on the way....
