Went to a wedding at Fox Hollow- Review also includes Duet, Flower Michele & High Voltage.... with pix!

My friend got married yesterday and I was part of the bridal party. She got married at Maria Regina Church, and the reception was at the Fox Hollow.

I had been to the Fox Hollow before but for a bridal shower, in the same room (Winter Garden I THINK!). I loved the Fox Hollow the first time I was there and was looking forward to going for a wedding this time. We arrived early (it was a 1:30 start time, we got there around 12:30 or so) to take pictures. When we got over by the gazebo they had food and drinks set up for us which was great cuz we were starving :) The photo opportunities were great, lots of different places to use for scenery. My only complaint in this area is that there were gnats EVERYWHERE! You could actually see them swirling around if you looked into the sunlight. They didn't bother me but the photographers kept swatting them away and i am wondering if they are going to be seen in some of the pix.

Before the cocktail hour we went up to the bridal suite which was nice. There were 9 of us in there and plenty of room. They didn't have food up there because we did go down to the cocktail hour.

The cocktail hour was in two rooms that were attached. One room had the food, bar and a few tables and the other room was all tables. It was a small area and there was a typical selection of cocktail hour food. I didn't eat too much.

The reception room we were in was beautiful, but small for a wedding. All the tables were at the far end, and the dance floor, which was very small, was right by the door and bar. So if you needed to use the restroom or wanted a drink you had to walk across the dance floor.

I missed the dinner choices because I was in the bridal party but my FH ordered me the chicken dish. It was good, but again, I didn't eat much. The appetizer was a fruit placte (good) and then salad (yummy- but not enough). There was no course between the salad and dinner which I thought usually there was. Before the cake they served some kind of pretty ice cream dish which was great, and then the wedding cake. I am not sure if the courses were less because it was a daytime wedding. Nobody ever came to our table to see if we wanted a drink from the bar (there was wine on the table though). Drinks were good, and very strong! All top shelf liquor and a big selection!

Duet was the photographer and they seemed great. Very personable, and took a lot of pictures!! My friend (who is practically a professional bridesmaid) said that she has never seen a photographer take so many pictures before. Obviously I didn't see any pix but they were right in everything taking lots of shots of everything.

All the flowers were by Flower Michele in Huntington. Our bouquets were beautiful, white, and purple roses. The MOH and Brides bouquet had champagne roses in themas well, which I thought looked a little browned... couldn't tell that they were supposed to be that way. The centerpieces were very pretty. Only thing I noticed was that MOB's coursage was wilted by the time we got to the hall.

High Voltage was the DJ, and it appeared to have two people behind the box but neither was an MC (I don't think my friends paid for an MC though). They strictly played the music and handed out giveaways. I did like that they don't advertise on their booth. Music was kinda slow until after dinner... people were not really up and dancing before we ate. Again, not sure if this was their doing or the bride and grooms request.

All in all it was a really nice wedding. I was trying to give an honest review of what I thought and saw. Hope this helps some of you!! If you have any questions please feel free to ask!!

That's the same room my brother & his wife used at FH..I said the same thing about the room layout..but I did like the way the room looked.

The flowers were beautiful. I've also been to a few wedding in that room at Fox Hollow, and I love it, especially the light that comes in from the ceiling windows.

Thanks for the review! We're having our reception at Fox hollow and that's our room...you were right, it's the Winter Garden and its for smaller weddings. I love the way it looks in pictures! thanks for posting!

great pics, we're in the garden terrace room, but that room looks beautiful too, but we needed the large room nbecause we're inviting over 200 people

glad you had fun. The bride looks so familiar to me and I swear I know your FH from somewhere too, I just don't know where.
