After looking endlessly for a teaching job with no luck....at this point, I will resort back to looking for an Executive Assistant job... anyone know of anything? FM me please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know of any one hiring but there are usually tons of EA jobs listed online (NY times, hotjobs, monster, etc)

um.....RELAX......for me it is "resorting back to it" since I just spent the last 2 years getting my Masters FOR TEACHING and now CANT GET A TEACHING JOB.... wasnt out to offend anyone

i think all she meant was that teaching is her first choice and that she would resort to being an EA b/c its her 2nd choice if her second choice had been anyting she would have said RESORT TO i dont think she meant it like that at all.

Girls - those of you who haven't found teaching jobs - I'm very sorry!! I definitely feel your pain!!! It took me 2.5 years of permanent subbing and leave replacements to finally get my perm guidance job this fall!!!
At much as subbing S U C K S, I would still do it if I were you. A LOT of schools are still looking for perm subs this time of year - more $$$ than a per diem sub and you'll be in the school every day - making connections and finding out about things that may pop up over the year like leaves!
Best of luck to you!
ps - I totally understood what you meant by "resorting" to your old job. It's very frustrating to bust your butt and spend tons of $$$ to get a Master's and then not to be able to get a job in your field!

Oh Boy, do I feel your pain. I am in the same boat, and after getting my masters in ed and not finding a job, I too resorted back to my old field. And Yes, I called it resorting back even though my last profession paid more than double what a teacher makes and was very fulfilling, so I don't think anyone should have taken that the wrong way.
Unfortunately, I don't know of any executive asst postions but I know that agencies such as Randstad have Exec Asst placements all the time. If you don't have luck finding a job online (careerbuilder or monster), I would suggest going to an employment agency next.
Also, I don't know how you feel about making a low salary, but a great way into a school is becoming a Teacher Assistant or AIS tutor. I got called in for an AIS tutoring position, but couldn't afford to live off the salary they were offering. Best of luck to you in whatever you decide to do! I know it's a tough decision!

I would just send a resume to all school districts near you for either subsitute teaching or teaching assistant positions. Many times they don't bother listing it in the paper. Or even better is going to the school with your resume and dropping it off.
