Time between church and reception...
Our ceremony at the Church is at 5pm in Farmingdale, and our reception starts at 7:30pm in Lindenhurst. I am anticipating by the time we are done with the ceremony, pix, bubbles, etc, that it will be close to if not after 6pm... My mom feels like she has to have people over between the two... I told her absolutely not, there is no reason to stress over entertaining and there won't be much time anyway... Most people are local and those who aren't I'm sure will be staying in the block of rooms at the hotel (where we will have a shuttle so they will need time to get there- in Plainview).
Does she have to have people back in between or should they just worry about themselves??

Re: Time between church and reception...
like you said, by the time you're done at the church it will be 6pm. then people have to get to your parents house and then the hall. IMO, definitely do not worry about this.

Re: Time between church and reception...
I wouldnt worry so much about it. If you mass is at 5 it will be over about 5:45 (give or take), then you will have the recessional where you have say hello to everyone. Your guests will probably have an hour or less to kill and that doesnt include driving from the church to the reception. I am not sure how far they are but it is a friday and they will hit traffic....So there really isnt much time for them to be sitting around.

Re: Time between church and reception...
6 to 7:30...that is nothing!!! My ceremony will end at about 4 and my reception doesn't start till 7. My mom was going to have people back to her house my decided against it...if people live far or don't have anyplace to go between the church and the reception, they just won't go to church and that it totally fine!!

Re: Time between church and reception...
I think there won't be a huge amount of time in between the end of your ceremony and the reception. So I don't think you have anything to worry about...
