Walking down the aisle

I need some suggesstions.... My dad is deceased and I have no brothers and no males that I am close with. Growing up, I thought of myself walking down the aisle alone. The other day someone mentioned my mother walking me down?? Was just wondering what you would do, walk solo or walk with mom? Thanks

If your close to your mom, have your mom give you away! It's your day, you do what you want! Personally, I would have my mom walk me down!

mom is a great idea!

i will be using my grandfather (even though my father is alive, he's not coming to the wedding).

walking down by yourself isn't a bad idea either!

My Dad passed away 5 years ago. My brother is walking me down the aisle, but my Mom is dancing with me at the reception. You walk/dance with whom you want. Remember it's your day and it's about sharing that with whomever is special to you. If that's your Mom, a friend, aunt, uncle, whoever... you share that with that person.

i am walking myself down the aisle. if you have a close relationship with your mom and having her walk you down is what you want, then do it. but if you have reservations about it and would rather walk yourself, there's nothing wrong with that. ~lacey

i think having your mom walk you down the aisle is a great idea...and she would probably be very touched and happy to do it

My FH's cousin had her Mom walk her down the aisle. You should do what you want it is your day.

A friend of mine lost her dad and is having her mom walk her down. I if you are close with your mom I think it will be really special.

My father and I are not close, but my mother is the most important person in my life so I am having her walk me down the aisle and I am planning on dancing with her. She was so honored when I told her this that she started to cry.
If you are close with your mother, then I would definitely suggest to you that you have her walk you.

You could walk down half way with you mom, and alone the other half.

my cousin's father passed away a few years before her wedding...and she had her mother walk her down the isle....it was very nice

Are you close to your mom? Do you think she would be okay with it? Are you? Those are the most important questions!

I walked down with my mom since I have no dad. And it was perfect for us! She was so happy to be able to do it and I was so happy to have her by my side

I'm having both my parents walk me down. If you're close to your mom, then ask her to do it. Plenty of brides are walked by their mom's these days, no one will think anything of it. If you're not close, then you're fine walking on your own too!!

If I were close with my mother I would walk down with her. A friend of mine did that, her dad had died a few yrs before she was married. I"m walking down with my kid brother jake. He'll be 14 when I get married. If you feel close to your mother then by all means do. If not and you cant find anyone man or woman to walk down with you, then by all means do it soslo. But you and your FH could walk down together. To show that you two are together to the end. I always like that one as well.

I'm walking down the aisle with both of my parents. I think it would be really nice to have your mom walk you down. There's no reason why you need a man to walk you down the aisle. It should be whomever you're closest with regardless of gender.

I would give anything to walk down the aisle with my Mom. She is the world to me... Unfortunately she passed away 4 1/2 years ago.
You did mention in your post that you've always imagined yourself walking down the aisle alone...then that is what you should do. I think it's completely natural to do that. Do what you feel in your heart...

A lot of people walk down with their mothers now. I chose to walk down with my brother because it was be too much of a crying mess to walk down with my mom so it's something that you have to decide on.
