Sept. 06' brides... HELLO!

Hey all!

Just want to get updates from the ladies of Sept. '06. My BIG day is Friday Sept. 22nd. I'm getting married out in Sag Harbor and then the reception to follow at Giorgio's in Calverton.

How's the planning going? I feel so overwhelmed. I've only booked the church, the priest (that I wanted), the reception hall. Being so new to this I feel lost and like I am not booking things fast enough.

What's next? I've got ideas for photographers, just waiting for them to get back to me. NO clue about a DJ... any suggestions? And the dress... oh the dress, I'm starting to look on Tuesday. Colors? No idea, thinking deep purples and green.

Feeling a bit behind...

i only booked the hall and priest also. i'm started to look into bands, dj's and photographers, but only through this site.i haven't even started looking for my own dress yet, but BM's dresses will probably be in the blue family. I dont' want anything dark because i want my pictures to look as colorful as possible.

I'm glad to know that someone's at the same speed as me. I was checking out the Oct '06 brides and they've already booked mostly everything! I'm like, wait... they're a month after me!!! LOL.

I'm feeling overwhelmed, but not in a bad way at all. I've just never done this so who knows! This website is great though, it's helping a lot. I mean we only got engaged on the 21st! My fiance is like, let's enjoy this for a bit.

But things get booked and it's scary!

wow congratulations!! we looked at giorgio's orginally but they were totally booked up, the reason we decided not to go with them was because they are so far away from us, it's nice there though but I was looking for more of an outdoors area. you really are doing things quickly, i have only does these things within a matter of months, but we are buying a house also which takes up time and money. do you currently live in suffolk?

Yes, we live in Sag Harbor.

I know we're doing things quickly, but if you knew us... it's all happening at the perfect time.

We originally wanted Oct. but Giorgio's was all booked and I had my heart set on it, so the 22nd of Sept was the only thing he had available, so we jumped on it. They are so great there! Plus it's centrally located between our families. So that was another plus. I was getting very nervous because everything books up so fast! I can't believe it.

Congratulations and welcome to the boards!!! I am happy to hear that you booked Giorgios (in Baiting Hollow). WE LOVE the place!!!

No need to feel overwhelmed. Just do things at your own pace. My only advice would be to get limos, photogrpaher, and videographer (if you are getting one) asap. In my experience, they book up fast. Just remember to enjoy your engagment and not get caught up in the drama!!

i know it's scary, i orginally wanted the 23rd but that was booked up so i jumped on the chance of the 30th without my FH he was mad for a little while but got over it, otherwise we would be still looking for a while. I guess your fiancee lives out there too?

Yes, Jandt, we both live here in Sag Harbor.

I am trying to go at my own pace, but I'm the typ of person who when they see something they like, that's it, look no further. With that, I get scared that certain things I want for my wedding, ie: photographer, place (got that!), dress, DJ... that they're all going to be booked up. People are moving fast on this website.

i want to start booking more places but i barely have any money to put for down payments either!!
eta: no clue where sag harbor is, i will be moving to medford once i am married.

Sag Harbor is in the "Hamptons" (ugh) I hate saying that, it sounds so pretentious and absloutely gross!! LOL! It's kind of located between Bridgehampton and East Hampton. (I'll like living here a lot better in about 7 days when they all leave!!)

In terms of djs, definitely check out Vinny from High Voltage Sounds. He's a vendor on this board and comes highly recommended by so many ladies. Do a search and you'll see all the good reviews. This website is a really good resource for vendors.

Congrats! Giorgio's is a fabulous choice- would have loved it, just too far for me. I'm getting married September 8, and all I've done is book the church and my reception at Land's End. I'm deeply obsessed now with the quest for the ultimate dress- once I get that done, I hope I'll be able to regroup- but for now...I'M ON A MISSION!!! Let's keep each other posted on our progress, k?

I'm getting married Sat. Sept 23rd. I only have the hall, band, and church booked. I don't even know my colors yet, i keep changing my mind.

I don't have a color picked either, but was thinking of dark purple shade myself, but then i always like the shades of orange for a fall wedding.
