Need to lose weight

Hi Girls, I need to lose 25-30 lbs before my wedding. I am NOT a dieter. Aside from drinking tons of water, is there an exercise routine you can suggest that I can do 5 days a week (mon-fri) that will work. Obviuosly, I will stay away from junk food and soda, but that's as far as I can go with dieting. Any ideas? Thanks

I would think sit ups and a treadmill would work.

Maybe put more veggies in your meals - they will fill you up.

Walking is great exercise, but in order for you to lose weight, you need to couple it with another form of exercise---such as weights and/or cardio.

Of course drinking the water and skipping the snacks will help too. (Eat lots of food with fiber and limit the amount of fatty foods!!!)

I started swimming recently and it really works. I do about 15 laps a couple times a week. A little goes a long way with swimming I'm finding.

Thanks girls, right now I have been doing 20 minutes of stairmaster and 200 crunches 5 days a week, I think I am gonna add some wieght training too. I will keep you updated on my progress. Thanks

seriously, tae bo works - it's certainly not easy, but if you want results use billy blanks.

running is the only thing that works for me

to lose wieght I ran 45 minutes to 60 minutes 5 days a week

to maintain- and I have to say it took off my saddle bags- I run 30 minutes up hill- 3% inlcine! I can feel the differnce

I run in intervals so you can do it even if you aren't in great shape-

try this walk 1 minute, Jog 2 minutes, run 1 minute - then repeat

I have been trying to do the whole walk, jog, run thing and it is killin me. I guess I run kinda wierd cause my calves start killing me (and shin splints too) when I run. Oh well, no pain, no gain

I've been cheating too, I walk 2, jog 2, run 1

i love the precor elliptical trainer at the gym. Billy Blank is awesome too. Maybe get two different workouts and mix it up - so you don't get bored of working out and quit.

Drink ICY cold water - your body burns calories heating the water up

Drink water before your meal. It will fill you up a bit, and you will eat less. Also eat a salad first - it will also fill you up.

Thanks for all the ideas girls, I will keep you updated on my progress....I did the elliptic (sp) machine last night for 30 minutes (it felt good :)

Ride a bicycle! Personally I'm NOT a fan of the ones in the gym (especially the recumbant ones) because most of the times, those "calorie counters" we all love are terribly inaccurate. The more upright ones are ok, but make sure you use the sneaker strap--and make sure it fits snugly around your shoe. You need it to pedal completely around--don't just push down on the pedals, use your hamstrings to help you pull up as well. (I"m assuming you're working out in a gym) But NOTHING beats riding outdoors--it's great scenery and SOO relaxing (not in Rush Hour traffic though)

What's been working for me is eating salad for lunch and walking on my lunch hour, over a mile a day for 45 minutes. Good luck!
