Registry bonus items
What do you do if you get a bonus item if 10 place settings are bought from your registry...but someone buys two place settings from a store you aren't registered at? Anyone have this problem?

I would return them at the store you are registered at (I wouldn't tell them you got them from another store) and then I would re-purchase them!

I believe you have to purchase all 10 place settings at once in order to get the bonus item. I received a bonus vegetable bowl because my mom bought my 12 place settings at once.
So it doesn't matter if you have 10 bought at separate times, you won't get the bonus unless it's all at once.

You may have a problem returning items at a different store than where they were purchased. I don't know if it was BS or not, but one of the people at Bed Bath & Beyond who helped us with our registry told us that they won't accept returned place settings from another store. There may be some type of numbering on the place setting that indicates whether it came from a BB&B store.

Well then I guess you could return them at the other store they were purchased at and use the money you got back to buy them at your store. Geez...why can't people just stick to the registry!!!! JK

LOL! Well, we are registered at Macy's for our china and apparently the Macy's they went to didn't have the place settings on hand so they went and got them at Filenes. We have 12 settings on our registry, and you need 10 for the bonus, so right now we would be fine, I THINK, but if other people go to different stores then it wouldn't work out.

Well, I was registered at Macy's too, and they told my Mom that since she bought 10 at once she gets the bonus item.
That is different than the other promotions you see where you buy a place setting and get a soup bowl for free.
