Re: Honeymoon Riviera Maya Mexico
I went to Secrets Capri Riviera Maya in the beginning of the summer. It is a different resort from Secrets Excellence, BUT if they are bsacially run the same way, it is clean and beautiful and you will have a nice time. The ONLY thing that really was lacking was nightlife, but that tends to happen at all inclusives sometimes.

Re: Honeymoon Riviera Maya Mexico
We went to Royal Hideaway for our HM and we loved it! Everything about it was wonderful!
DH's cousin was in Secrets around the same time for their HM and said they loved it and raved about it as much as we raved about RH. RH is a bit more $$ I think because its been around longer and has earned several awards for its service and cusine.
I dont think you can be disappointed with either one.

Re: Honeymoon Riviera Maya Mexico
If you can afford Royal Hideaway, I would go with that, it sounds superb. I've heard good things about Secrets Excellence also, although it is not right on the beach. The beach is across the street. I think it's not as sumptious as Hideaway though.

Re: Honeymoon Riviera Maya Mexico
We were debating between the same two. We chose Royal Hideaway and had the HM of a lifetime! Honestly, nothing was "OK" everything was EXCELLENT! Some pics and a full review posted!
They're both great, what did it for us was the beach...the one at RH is amazingly gorgeous!

I hope you mean me...
Thank you! I have a lot more and will share them with you if interested...FM me your email address and I'll send you my shutterfly link.
The dress code for dinner was what DH and I called "island formal". Long pants for men, closed toe shoes, no beach wear. Dresses (sun dresses OK) for ladies, sandals, no beach wear or swim suit tops. Our favorite restaurant was The Grill! It's right across frm the beach under a tent and is just marvelous...we so want to go back! Dinner on the beach was amazing too...and if you go, you must get couples massages by the beach...yummmmmmm!
