No. I am not.....In order to book anthony you have to get a package of F or better (about $5,000 and more). Also, he primarily does black and whites. He takes great pics but he takes limited color and in order to get him you have to spend alot. We went with Duet.

Try Silverfox, they are great. I don't know why too many brides on LIW don't use them. Everyone uses Duet for some reason. I didn't think they were that phenominal.

Re: Perceptions Photography/anthony vazquez

We're using Perceptions. Anthony was already booked for our day, so we have Geraldine, whose work we love. We looked at lots of other photographers and like their work the best. They are a little pricey, but pictures are very important to us, so we think it's worth it. The more we looked the more we realized that we really liked the photographers that shot in film rather than digital. It's just our preference.

Re: Perceptions Photography/anthony vazquez

I used Anthony, George (he's the "traditional" photo guy) and Sarah (she was in training) for my wedding and they were amazing! Aside from having really great personalities all around, I am so incredibly happy with my pictures and I am *exteremely* nit-picky when it comes to how I look in photos. I would highly recommend them.

I saw a number of photographers in NYC and LI, all of whom came highly recommended on LIW and The Knot. What really sold me on Anthony besides his personality (he's just the kind of guy you'd want to hang out with and that's what I was looking for in a photographer since he'd be with me for 10 hours! ) was that he wasn't like most of the other places I went to. Rather than just showing me albums of photos he'd selected, when I asked to see proofs from a wedding, he got up and without hesitation handed me a box of proofs. Every picture was gorgeous! I'd seen some other photographers where out of 200 pictures, there were maybe 10 or 15 amazing shots. Totally not the case with Anthony.

As far as price, we spent a bit of money on photography because it was important to us but we also paid for our album, 3 parent albums, a bunch of "thank you" cards, etc. I know that Anthony is available if your package is $5000 or more, but he has packages that start under $2500. So, definitely check them out.

Sorry this is so long -- can you tell I'm working on my wedding review?

We checked out Perceptions and thought there pictures
were amazing but again when it came down to $$$$ they
were a little out of our price range. We went with Duet because
we were very happy with there work and we were able to
bargain with them. I would definitely go check them out.
Good luck

Re: Perceptions Photography/anthony vazquez

I went to check out Perceptions too. I really liked the albums, but the idea that Anthony wouldn't get out of bed for less than $5000 really turned me off.

they do have cheaper packages, and I really liked Geraldine's pictures- I just felt more comfortable with 12th night....and the owner is taking my pics, without me getting the "deluxe" package....

I went to see him and his personality was a big turn off- i would NEVER pay to have him shoot my wedding cause I would go crazy..he really had an "im better than you" kind of attitude...and to be honest i didnt think his albums were all that great, it is nice, but i found others better! I truthfully couldnt get past is attitude

Felt exactly the same way about his attitude although I did think he did amazing work.

I think it's so interesting that people were turned off by Anthony's "attitude". DH and I immediately liked Anthony, and his work. We were very happy with our proofs, and our album should be ready soon.

All brides should really visit vendors for themselves, as proven here by the totally opposite reactions to one vendor's personality.

Same here. We didn't go with Anthony, b/c we didn't want the extravaganza package, but we LOVED his work. We also felt very comfortable with him and did not feel at all that he had an attitude. In fact, he was one of the only photographers that followed up with us to see if we had any ques. etc. about his work. If I had more $$$, we would have considered him. I think he was nice, professional and talented.
