Please help ...Is using fake petals for a petal cone....
tacky? I was going to use bubbles (which I already have) but I feel it's not enough now. Real petals is not in our budget b/c we didn't plan on it. And do you know how many things weren't included in our budget but we got anyway???? A lot!!!!
Anyway, is it tacky if I stuffed the paper up with fake petals and rolled it up????
But wait, now I just thought...is that even aloud????

Re: Please help ...Is using fake petals for a petal cone....
go to one of those roadside places that have 2 dozen roses for $9.99 and put your BMs to work pulling the petals off!
that's actually what flower michele and another florist told me to do to save money! plus it's more environmentally sound and you won't have to have someone clean them up!
you can also go to waldbaums and ask them when they throw out their extra roses. they may just give them to you (yup...a florist told me that trick too!)

I would check with your florist b/c I'm not paying that much for petals for my petal cones.
I agree with the above poster that you should check out places that sell cheap roses, like Costco or BJ's. I bet it works out to be cheaper then buying the fake petals, plus it's better for the environment!

I don't think its tacky at all - but the ideas above are wonderful.
If you do a search for a review by azoodie, she used dried petals. At first she didn't like the texture, but they came out so great in the pics. I was going to get about 60 cups for $70... and it was killing me to pay that much.

I think it's very tacky, and you should be ashamed. In fact, I think that hanging pictures of NKOTB all over the reception hall would be less tacky. Just kidding. I think it's a fine idea, but the above ideas that some of the girls gave you were great, too... Give those a try.

I am probably going to end up using fake rose petals also, because the East Wind dose not allow real ones inside because they could stain the carpet from being stepped on.
