Hawaii HM-2 islands or 3 islands? Past HM'ers-Help!

Im being torn on whether to eliminate Kuaui or to stick with our plan to go to the 3 islands.

What were your experiences w/Maui, Kuaui and Oahu?
I definitely want to see Oahu for Pearl Harbor.
Im hearing Kuaui can be a great island or a blah island...depending what you are into to.

Ugh, HM decisions are so hard!


ETA: Ok, and if you had only 8/9 days there...would that change your mind on 2/3 islands?

Reasons are FH is cop,time off is crucial and
BUDGET!

We just booked our Hawaii honeymoon and had a hard time deciding this too b/c we really wanted to go to Kauai as well as see Pearl Harbor.

We're actually seeing 4 islands, starting with the Big Island, then Maui, then Kauai. We fly directly into the Big Island, then jump to Maui, then Kauai, then our last day there, we fly to Oahu early in the morning (like 8am) get to Oahu to see Pearl Harbor, then fly out at 10pm back to the mainland (San Francisco, then NY). You might want to do Oahu just for a day like that and spend some time in Kauai.

I've heard Kauai is amazing and shouldn't be missed, from other honeymooners.

we just came home from hawaii.

we did maui and kauai. kauai is amazing and a def. must- imo.

We started in Maui and did the tourist stuff and totally relaxed in kauai. We stayed at the Hyatt and totally loved it- especially the location in Kauai.... You really have to go there!

we flew from maui to oahu to see pearl harbor for the day. it cost 400 but we booked it the day before we left.

i would recommend only 2 islands though--there is so much to see!

We are in the same boat. We just decided on Hawaii as a destination so Ill be following this thread!

we wanna do the exact same thing 3 islands same as u we wanna go for 12 nights 13 days
my FSIL did that in 2001 and loved it..i wanna follow what she did. where have u looked agent wise?

we're just going to 2 islands- maui and kauai- 4 nights on each.

i know a few people that have done that.

If you are only going 8/9 days, I would definitely say choose only 2 islands. We did Maui and then Kauai in 10days and I wanted more time on each. We were supposed to spend the last day before we flew out on Oahu but changed our flight because we did not want to leave Kauai early. IMHO, I think Kauai is a definite must do!! If you really want to do Oahu, I would do it as a day trip or the first or last day of your trip before/after you fly out. HTH

If you are only doing 8-9 days, I would only do two islands. We were in Hawaii for 12 nights and did 2 in Oahu (just to see pearl harbor and climb diamondhead), 5 in Kauai, and 5 in Maui. We loved Kauai. It was so beautiful and peaceful. We were not at all bored there. We did a lot of sightseeing and driving around the island, and still had plenty of time to relax by the pool. Maui has more to do, and I didn't feel like I could fit it all in in my 5 nights there. My personal recommendation is Maui and Kauai, but if you definitely want to go to Oahu, I would do Oahu for two nights and Maui for 6.

we have 12 days in Hawaii and are staying 5 days in Ohau and 6 days in Kauia. There is a bit of traveling to each Island, so we want to relax and enjoy our time.

we went for 14 nights and did 6 nights in maui, 6 nights on big island, and 2 nights in oahu (dh wanted to do pearl harbor too.) maui was the BEST! it was a perfect mix of tropical, great activities, great dining, great everything! oahu was mainly city life & shopping. it was very pretty but i wouldn't want to spend more than 3 days there. i wanted to do kaui b/c i heard it was very pretty, but 3 islands was enough! i also heard kaui was very quiet and mainly for relaxing on the beach. i guess it depends on what u like to do. the big island was great for adventure activities but not very tropical / lush looking. oy, t=i don't think i answered your question very well. fm me if u have any specific questions.
don't worry, whatever u do, hawaii is AMAZING!!!!

I AM DOING 12 DAYS HALF IN OAHU AND THEN ANOTHER ISALND WE WILL ISALND HOP TO SEE THE OTHER WE ARE NOT STAYIG AT TOO MUCH PACKING AND UNPACKING

We are doing 2 islands - Maui and Oahu and will be there for 2 weeks.

I heard every island is spectacular!!
