Aruba: All Inclusive or Not?

FH and I are going on our HM to Aruba in Feb 2006. We are staying at the Wyndham. We didn't book all inclusive because my parents told me there are so many good places to eat. We are a little concerned about $$$. For those of you going on your HM to Aruba, can you tell me what you've decided to do? TIA!

Re: Aruba: All Inclusive or Not?

We are going to the Wyndham Aruba in June 06 for a wedding. Haven't decided to go all inclusive or not yet... but the bride said all the advice she is getting from her agent is to go for the all inclusive.

edit for spelling

Re: Aruba: All Inclusive or Not?

We did all inclusive because we didnt want to worry about money or transportation. I got to eat and drink all day which is fine with me!

Re: Aruba: All Inclusive or Not?

From EVERY person that I know that's went to Aruba, they all say NO All inclusive because there are tons of great restaurants to choose from. We opted for the non-all inclusive.

I am doing an all inclusive in cabo- only for the drinks and the food during the day- I will mostly likely go into town for dinner everynight- and only each at the hotel if we are really tired-

I like the idea of not having to have money on me- expect for tips- and not worrying about some huge bill at the end- for drinks and lunch!

Re: Aruba: All Inclusive or Not?

We chose to stay at a hotel that did not have an all inclusive option, but had a dining plan, where you could eat at certain restaurants. We decided not to do the dining plan, since we didn't want to be limited to those places. However, we are not really drinkers - DH doesn't drink at all, and I think I had a drink on the beach twice while we were there. If you think you will drink a lot, I would do all inclusive.

Also, some of the nicer restaurants are pretty expensive there. We ate at one Italian place near the Hyatt and we almost fell over when we got the bill. If you are trying to stick to a budget, all-inclusive might be the way to go.

I would go for the all inclusive then you don't need to worry to much about money. Most resorts have a few different reaturants to choose from but if you want to go to a different resturant that isn't in your resort 1 or 2 nights, bring some extra cash. I have done both and I liked the all inclusive better.

Re: Aruba: All Inclusive or Not?

When I was there last year on vacation we did an all inclusive, we had free drinks and ate breakfast and some lunch then for dinner we went out. It's good to know that if you want a little something it's there for you. Even if you do the all inclusive you can still go to the great places we did, everynight we went someplace different

Re: Aruba: All Inclusive or Not?

We are going there on our HM and opted for the all inclusive package for the simple fact that we dont want to worry about carrying around money for breakfast or lunch and drinks at our resort. Plus, with the package we got, we are able to eat lunch and dinner and have drinks at the resorts 2 other resorts while we are there. We have dinner reservations for 3 nights while we are there and we figured we can eat at our resort and the other 2 resorts on the other nights. Either way, I love that we dont have to pay for drinks

Re: Aruba: All Inclusive or Not?

We did AI...because that we we could have a great breakfast and lunch everyday, along with late night snacks at the bar and drinks. Two nights we ate dinner at the restaurants at the resort, and the other 5 we ate out at all the great restaurants. Even with those 5 nights out, I felt we got our monies worth with the bkfst, lunch, snacks and drinks.
