I'm so worried. Help me feel better. What was your ratio of people coming vs. people not coming?
So far I have 20 coming and 11 not coming. Why is this a problem?
1. Because that is more than half the responses so far.
2. Because my RSVP date is in 11 days and I'm still missing move than 20 invitations.
I mean, some of the people who said no were expected to say no, such as people from Florida and Mississippii. But I am really getting nervous that I will be way under my minimum, which is only 95!! Do you think the invites will start flowing in (with yesses) since there is only 11 days left til the RSVP date? What is wrong with people? Why can't they RSVP on time? Did this happen to anyone else? Did you get a lot of responses at the last minute?
ETA: There are a lot of people who I know are coming b/c they told me. Such as my friends, his friends, etc... But they still haven't sent in their responses. I need it in writing! What is wrong with them? Etiquette anyone???

I am still missing 4 and the RSVP date was the 5th! I got tops 1-2 a day and lots of days with none till the 5th and then a whole bunch were waiting for me. I swore the mail man was trying to give me a headache!! Try not to stress till the final count!

Honestly, I used to forget to send in RSVP's to people, just figuring that they knew I was coming  Now that I'm wedding planning, I will NEVER do that again, though!
You coudl always call people and ask...

My respond date is today and i am still missing about 50 responses. Last night i had a little panic attack. Only 20 pple said no and 240 pple are coming. I hope the 50 that still didnt respond are planning on saying no.

Not a problem!!!!!! By the way the George Washington Manor is beautiful. I went to a wedding there about 4 years ago and they did a great job.

well, it is not really last minute, because you have over a week and a half. If people don't respond when there are only a few days left, then I would start calling.

A lot of people wait until the last min. or never RSVP.
Some people who never RSVPed:
Bridesmaid, parents, .....
Some people who sent it well after the cut off date:
Uncle, first cousin
If you asked me before my RSVP's came back I would say that 20-30% no is common, but it would depend on your list. Here is how my list breaks down:
FIL: Invited 55 expected 30 coming 53
Mom: Invited 89 expected 60 coming 46
FI: Invited 52 expected 40 coming 33 (or 34)
Me: Invited 46 expected 26 coming 20
And yes we're still waiting for some RSVPs. (One is understandable because he is in the service, but 2 of them are now on vacation -- you would think they would have had the courtesy to send back the card BEFORE they left).
I would tell you not to worry about your minimum but I did for weeks and weeks.

We had a hard time with the guests as well. After inviting 210, we officially had 135 ish (some called at the last minute, uh the night before to cancel soI 'm not sure what the final was)guests. It was about 35% of the list said no. So I feel your pain.

I am 8 days from my RSVP date.
Out of 110 people invited, I've gotten cards back for 64 of those people (42 yes, 12 no). Several people have told me they are coming (including the BM), but I have not received their replies yet.
I will NOT be happy if I have to track people down to get their response.

We sent out 145 invites have received 64 back our RSVP date is in 13 days. We currently have 107 people attending.
13 No's (not people, invitations)
51 Yes's (not people, invitations)
I get a feeling I am going to be spending hours calling people.....

Don't worry--people definitely tend to procrastinate. When your friends told you and DH that they were "definitely coming" did you laughingly remind them "not until you send back your card!" Some of those people may think their verbal commitment is the same as writing it down. (but not to us!)
We invited around 240 guests to my wedding and had just over 150. Most of those were OOTers, but I wouldn't sweat it! Good Luck!
