How would your FH/DH rate you cooking?

Slowly but surely I am learning how to cook "just like mom". Practice makes perfect. I would never be bold to say that I am as good as my mom or FMIL...but of course FH would. Otherwise he knows he'll never get fed.

I'm ok with basic stuff. Luckily for me FH does all the cooking, he loves it.

Re: How would your FH/DH rate you cooking?

Since we have moved in together I have really learned to cook. However, I must admit that I use recipes all the time....I am no good at just "throwing things together!"

Re: How would your FH/DH rate you cooking?

I've come a long way. Used to be ok with the basics, then cooked like mom and now he raves..I guess practice makes perfect (not really perfect) but you get the idea.

Re: How would your FH/DH rate you cooking?

DH and I are both very good cooks. He cooks the meat products(I am a vegetarian) and I handle most everything else. I tend to be better at just throwing things together and having it turn out good.

Re: How would your FH/DH rate you cooking?

I'd have to say I'm lucky, DH loves everything I make....even if I hate it. He didn't like his moms' cooking too much-only on certain things like her sauce, which I found out how to make

I voted for myself as very good. I like to experiment but most of the time I usually go by resipes and just add some different spices to them or different ingrediants to the mix and theings work out pretty well for me

Re: How would your FH/DH rate you cooking?

For my bridal shower I asked my MOH to put recipe cards in the invite. (and the guest has to fill them and put it in the gift) There are so many recipes in my family that I want from my nona, aunts and cousins. I am not a fan of cookbooks, but a fan of tried and true traditional recipes past from generation to generation. I've been telling my family already to start writing recipes down.

Re: How would your FH/DH rate you cooking?

Um, In a year and 4 months, I have only cooked for him twice. My kitchen is too small to enjoy cooking. We are moving in together very soon so we have no choice but to cook now. We need to save money!

I am a pretty good cook & I love to try new recipies. I have only had one major culinary disaster, but for the most part I do alright.

DH is a pretty good cook, too

Re: How would your FH/DH rate you cooking?

My DH is an excellent cook and I would say he does the majority of the cooking--although most nights I'll start something and when he gets home he'll finish it. It's mostly due to the fact that I'm never quite sure when he'll be home, so I do the sides and when he comes in, he throws the meat/chicken on or something. He's better at just pulling things together, I'm better with recipes. I like to bake and I make the Italian specialties - he really likes my meat sauce.

I've sampled the baking, and I have to say it is!

And, as for the sangria served in glasses bigger than my head...well, there are no words!
