Woohoo! I think we found an apartment (and furniture!)
Well, after being quite frustrated with searching for an apartment in the farm country of Virginia (everything is either low income, really crappy, or over our budget) we finally found one!
It's a condo - just being sold to our landlord by an older woman, who for the first few years, lived in it a month or 2 a year, and then lived in it full time for the last year - so it's in great condition. 2 br, 2 bath washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave. Nice big closet, big living/dining area and a big balcony. And it's right in our price range (a bit on the higher end, but we can make it).
The one downside was the blue/grey carpeting (and the fact that most furniture seems to be green). Oh - and the wallpaper (it's very, um, old lady style  )
We did, however, find a great 5 piece, beige set (sofa, loveseat, 2 end tables, and a coffe table) for a good price.
I'm so excited! Credit check should go fine (especially since my dad has to cosign - i don't actually get approved until august 11th at the next school board meeting).

Congrats! Where in VA is your new apartment?
Ugh. Edinburg. AKA the middle of nowhere. FH will still be in school at JMU, and I'll be teaching in strasburg... so we had to kind of go halfway... and there is NOTHING halfway.
I'm 40 minutes from any kind of salvation (aka winchester or harrisonburg)
