Suggetions need for elegant backyard cocktail party in Sept.

This will be a second marriage for both my fiancee and me. We each had a large wedding in a catering hall for our first. This time we are looking for something more low key. We have decided on a cocktail party (tented) for about 100 people this Sept. We are in need of some unique decorating ideas. Actually, any ideas about a cocktail party are welcome!

i just went to a small wedding reception at the home of a couple that got married in italy, and i was highly impressed!!! they had small cafe-like tables w/white chairs set up in the backyard w/candles and beautiful flower arrangements on each.

the bride, along with her friends, made about 40 different fingerfood/appetizers and had them set up at the bar, dining area and kitchen. she decorated the home w/tulle and they had a slideshow of their wedding/honeymoon playing on the television.

towards the end of the night, they had a cake cutting ceremony, and the bride changed into her wedding gown. they also had a champage fountain, which was really cool, and everyone gave the couple toasts.

o yes, i believe that you can rent these beverage fountains from your local party rental stores...i definitely think it was a very elegant touch!! good luck!!
