What is the deal with Long Island vendors?

I know it's wedding season - but what's with the attitude and ridiculous pricing!?!?- i've found band, flowers, tuxedos in the city for better pricing and less attiutde...I'd like to support the l.i. vendors but the few we've spoken have given us the "you have to do it this way" or want us to go with a band / d.j. or limo without seeing or guaranteeing which one we'll get the day of the wedding....I just moved to long island and was hoping for a better experience...Is it because we're having a small wedding (75 guests)?...

Some people are just better to deal with than others. I understand your frustration but in such a crowded market what you're going through is the difference between finding a vendor, and finding the right vendor for you.
And you my dear, sound like a woman who will stop at nothing less. Advising you not to stress would be silly. But if you can see the light at the end of the tunnel, have no doubt that by the time you get there you will have made it beautiful and amazing and all that you hope for now.
