My idiot MIL gave the baby liqour yesterday!!
She was babysitting at our house and we had leftover wine coolers/beer in the fridge. I told her it was OK to give the baby diluted juice so instead of her reaching for a Juicy Juice box or one of the kiddie punch bottles readily available at the front of the fridge, she reaches into the BACK of the fridge (behind the beers) and opens up a bottle of Mike's Hard Lemonade. She gave the baby a four ounce bottle of this stuff!! I didn't know what was going on until I got home, saw the half empty bottle in the fridge (confirmed with Bob that he hadn't had any) and realized what had happened. He called her and she said she didn't realize it was liquor! C'mon, it says HARD lemonade on the bottle. Plus it says 5.something or other % MALT LIQUOR!! Ugghhh, I called poison control and they said she should be alright since it was given to her early in the day. Thankfully she didn't think the Martini mixer looked appetizing for the baby
Lesson to learn: Don't leave irresponsible IL's alone with booze and baby!

When I read the subject, I thought she got a little tiny sip of something but FOUR ounces!!

Well, according to MIL she really liked it! Yeah, no doubt lady. When I got home, she was bouncing off the walls. I couldn't get her to settle down. Then she crashed about 9:00 in the middle of eating some Cherrios. I just called my Mom to see how she was doing and she kiddingly told me she gave her an eighth of jack!

Sharon...I read this thread to fmil....and she couldn't believe how anypne can mistaken alchol for juice....(im glad she passed the test)
anyway...Im glad that Amber is ok...and lock up all the liqour in your house....I bet you thought you wouldn't have to do that until Amber was big enough to open the fridge herself.

I'm not buying it either and she's not babysitting anymore (except for today where I literally had NO choice because my Mom was down with a massive stomach virus and I didn't want the baby over to her house...my Dad's sick too. And you know how "accomodating" they can be here at work with letting you work from home - especially on a Qtr start ) I took ALL of the booze, even the frozen stuff and brought it to my friend's party this weekend. There'd better not be any more "mistakes" or else
Oh yeah and on a "work" related note, one of those criticals was mine I supported these azzes for four weeks but my "follow up" skills she gave a 50 to!! This place SUX!!!
