Guest book on placecard table?
I called my hall today to find out how large the table for the guestbook will be (need to figure out how much stuff I can fit on there ).
They told me that they usually put the guestbook in the middle of the placecard table ... I'm not too sure about doing this My feeling is that, yes, people will SEE the guestbook, but they won't have room/time to sign it with everyone standing around waiting to find their placecard. What do you think?
Has anyone else done it this way? Did it work out?

That's where we're putting ours. Any wedding I've been to has had it there.

Really?! Thanks -- that makes me feel better. I don't go to enough weddings to know any different
I guess I'm disappointed because I was trying to do something like this (w/o the feather pen though ):

Well if that's how you want it done, than that's the way you should do it. Don't worry about when they say they normally do things such and such way. It's your wedding day and if you have specific things in mind, then you should do them.

Re: Guest book on placecard table?
Hmm....when I went to visit the Bourne last weekend - Helen05 had it set up on a round table to the right when you walk in. Not on the placecard table. It had that guest book, the pen, some rose petals and a couple pictures of them. Won't the placecards get messed up if the book is in the middle?
You should have have them set it up like you want it. They should be able to do it.
Plus, I know how much you love the book and pen, and how much it will kill you not to have it set up like you want!
Here's a pic of the table not set up from another visit. I forgot how big the table actually is..
