DO you think these flowers would work out?

I believe my florist said theyd be hard to work with but Ive pretty much decided all the flowers she said were hard to work with in July is what I want

I am really interestes in peony bouquets.
I also love lily of the valley. the smell is beautiful.

Any ideas?

This is the one I want to show her. Got it from a fellow LIBride :)

ETA: I tried to show a lily of the valley bouquet for BM and a lily of the valley boutenneire. It said unrecognizable format.

they are beautiful, I would just be nervous about how they hold up in heat - I'd hate to see those pretty flowers turn brown..

these are the best flowers for July, maybe you'll see something else you like

I would do gerber daisies, roses, hydrangea or calla lilies.

The peonies are beautiful..maybe you can do a few in your bouquet.

PS-ask the florist for advice...tell him/her the colors you love. That would be your best bet.

I think it's absolutely gorgeous! I'm sure Anna will be able to replicate it for you. But, I would trust the florists when they say that it's not in season or they would wilt b/c of the weather etc....

Re: DO you think these flowers would work out?

Peonies, while gorgeous, wilt FAST in hot weather. I had a bouquet of: hydrangea, tulips, peonies and orchids...with the exception of the tulips, all these flowers wilt fast...so before my reception was over, my bouquet was falling apart. It was STUNNING to look at though and was beautiful at the church...so as long as you're OK with them not lasting that long, go for it.

I just realized that it's clearly a lot hotter in July than it was in May...not sure if it's such a good idea. Maybe you can do large roses (the ones from Ecuador are typically huge) instead since they last a lot longer and are a lot easier to get.

ETA: Picture of my bouquet...

I wanted to do Peonies, but my florist said we couldnt get them in April. I am doing pinks too, if thats why you like. I am using Cala Lilles, Roses, and tulips.

Re: DO you think these flowers would work out?

I'm getting married at the end of July and I REALLY wanted peonies and was willing to pay whatever amount to get them. My florist told me that there's no way they can get them for me because they're out of season. I also think that if they could ship them in from somewhere, they'd be too concerned about the quality of the flowers they'd get and they probably don't want to risk their reputation if the flowers show up and are small or wilt right away.

To get the same kind of "fluffy" look that peonies have, I'm using a combo of roses and hydrangea instead. I wish I'd gotten married in May when peonies are all over the place!

Re: DO you think these flowers would work out?

I do not know much on Peonies, but lily of the valley are extremely expensive. I was told by a florist that they come from holland and are only in bloom for 2 weeks! I was shocked because we have them here, but they are pretty hard to get. : (

They are one of my favorites!

Re: DO you think these flowers would work out?

I'm doing peonies in July as well. I know there's a good chance of them wilting by the end of the day though. I saw a bouquet that I wanted in a magazine and knew I had to have that for my wedding. As long as they hold up for pictures. But I told my florist recently that if they don't come in in good condition, to substitute with something else. I would get the peonies for your bouquet but make sure the florist has a back up plan for you just in case.

Re: DO you think these flowers would work out?

When my mother owned her florist, she did a wedding with all Peonies and Lily of the Valley. They were Beautiful. It is hard to work with, but she did it! so it can be done!

I think they would last, but don't forget, once the cocktail hour and reception start, you will not even have your bouquet in your hands anymore!
