I'm going for my MRI today...UPDATE in first post
For my back. For some strange reason I am nervous. It's an open MRI though...I must be crazy!
UPDATE: Just got back...it was only 30 minutes, thank God, but it was very painful to lie there. However, it's a bulging disc (not herniated YAY!). Once the swelling goes down my doctor said he will be able to work on it a bit. I wish I knew why I was so swollen, but at least it's not herniated.

SO ANGRY! 
I waited for 3 weeks to try to get an MRI (my doctor messed up and then I could not get an appointment). I went today and they told me they had me scheduled for the wrong test and no one could give me the MRI . I have to wait 4 more days now!!! FI is very upset and plans to call them in the morning to see if I can get in any earlier then that. No one can treat me until they know what's wrong, and I have been in pain for weeks now!!!    Sorry to vent...

I'm sorry! That suxx. As many times as I've had MRIs (many more than I should have at my age  ) I still get nervous and would rather have it OVER WITH! I hope they can get you in soon.

It's strange when I had one...I went in not an ounce of nerves...then...once they put my head in the harness (MRI of the Brain!) I started feeling a little freaky...then he put me in and I panicked! He had to pull me out. I took a few deep breaths and did the MRI. There's a lot of noise. Be prepared for strange noises and banging. AND make sure you close your eyes. It helps...I wish someone told me to do that.
I honestly think what bothered me the most is the harness for my head. If I didn't have to have that on I think I would have felt a lot better.

FI called them this morning and all of a sudden I have an appointment for today. (FI is awsome)
Thanks so much Shorty! If I get there today and they tell me I don't really have an appointment you will have FM!
They said the test takes an HOUR!  Luckily it's an open MRI so it should not be too bad  (I hope)

 wow! I think the harness would bother me also. I had an MRI a couple of times before...once for my neck and one was for my brain (migraines). The one for my neck I think was open, but I was in so much pain it was horrible. Now I am more pain and it's going to be an hour . I hope FH can come in w/ me at least. The other MRI's I had did not take that long (maybe 20 minutes)

It is for my lower back. They should make an emoticon for "nervous". The MRI I had gotten for my neck and I remember crying towards the end because the pain was so intense. It would not be so bad if you did not have to keep still. OMG I am such a baby  !

i just went for an MRI of the head also
when they put my head in that thing i freaked for a while but then i just kept my eyes closed untill it was over.. that noise is crazy and makes it worse
now i have to do one for my neck and back which i realy do not want to do
