Parent gifts (parents helping A LOT)
Hi For those of you who have a lot of help from your parents, what did you get them? Ours are all helping out so much we really want to knock their socks off with a gift
We have sent them to the city for a show and overnight before.
I was thinking maybe a gift certificate for a weekend at Gurneys in Montauk.....what are some other ideas.
Thanks

They both like boating and gardening. I think i am looking for more of something to do like an event or trip than giving them an object. So confused

Re: Parent gifts (parents helping A LOT)
Someone suggested this site once before Select Registry
It is a compilation of inns and B&Bs and really cute hotels across the US. I was thinking of getting my parents a gift certificate for Select Registry (not sure how much $$) so they could select where and when they want to go. They can select from any of the listed sites and have 7 years to go!
My parents are chipping in ALOT too so I really want to get them something special too :)
Oh and I was also thinking of getting my dad a year of Beer of the Month Beer of the Month He loves beer and they have both domestic and international, so it would be perfect for him. Their sister companies include flowers, cheese, wine, cigar and chocolate of the months!

it might be a bit extreme but if they are into "boating" how about a cruise, u even can do like a 3 night thing, but if youre gonna "knock their socks off" i say go for 7 nights!!

Re: Parent gifts (parents helping A LOT)
Thats a good idea. Does anyone know how much a 3 or 4 days cruise would be? Maybe they could cruise from NY to up North for a few days.

Re: Parent gifts (parents helping A LOT)
I would recommend going to rccl.com (Royal Caribbean) and checking out the available cruises etc. not sure if they leave from NY but I LOVE that cruise line and would start there!

Royal Carribean used to sail from NY but they don't any more but they do sail out of NJ. It's a bit further to travel but so much more worth it than going on carnival

Re: Parent gifts (parents helping A LOT)
For my MOH, I commissioned this company called Oceans Bridge to paint an original reproduction of a famous painting of Eaton's Neck, LI. This was where we used to boat growing up. They also do reproductions of photos and such. The painting came out gorgeous and made my MOH cry!
I think it would make a lovely parent's gift.

Also, for my parents, we got an authentic custom-made Nantucket Basket inscribed with our wedding date and signed by the artist. My mom has always wanted one since they are big collectibles.
We also gave her and my dad a gift certificate to the spa at the Aruba resort they were going to right after the wedding.

Vacationstogo.com is a good site to check for cruises.
