The only one I have been to on LI is the Thai Gourmet. It is pretty good, but a little out of the way! In Maine (where I went to college), we had a bunch of really good Thai food places near the campus - SO SO GOOD!

Dh and I love Erawan. We also tried Erawan Steak and it was great. Danny the bartender at Erawan makes the best drinks!!!
ANother really good place is Jasmine in Manhattan.

Bell Blvd in Bayside...if you go on a weekend I would make reservations...its small and gets crowded...you won't be dissappointed...the chiken pad thai is excellent and the pineapple rice is beyond words...mmm I'm craving thai doof now...

I liked Sea a lot, but now the willimasburg ladies have discrouaged me so I am goignt o try Tai Thai when I get a chance. I was not a fan of Rain, MUCH more expensive then Sea and the food wasn't as good.

Erawan is my favorite.
I've checked out others;
Those I liked a lot too: Thai Cuisine in Park Slope Brooklyn, Simply Thai in Rockville Centre, Holy Basil in Manhattan.
One I did not like: across the street from Roosevelt field mall...Thai leaf or something...eeecckk...
Any other suggestions??
Shrimp Pad Thai and that curry/coconut/chicken soup are my favorites! Oh...and those chicken skewers and spring rolls w/ the plum sauce....LOL.....

Has anyone tried the tha restarant on hempstead tpke in franklin square? In the front is has curtains and just says "thai food" it looks shady but you never know.
Sea has such a good atmosphere. And weird abhtroom.s they're these circular pods, and they have flat panel Tvs in them where you can see the other customers in the restaraunt. it's kind of freaky. it makes me feel like they can see me!
And then you come out to this big round communal sink. totally weird!
i loved it b/c it was cheap. HUGE portion of pad thai for I think $8!

Sea Thai in the village is amazing. Here on LI we love Lemonleaf Grill in Hicksville. Thai USA in Huntington Village isn't too shabby, either!
