Do any of you MARRIED women NOT wear your e-ring anymore? (or know someone who doesn't?)

I overheard a conversation last night at the store between 2 women, one older (50s), one in her late 20s...and they were both married (rings.)

The older woman said to the younger one, "OH my GOSH, what happened?!? Why aren't you wearing your e-ring?!? Did you LOSE it?!"

The younger one said that she doesn't wear it much, 'cause it gets in the way. She replaced it with the wedding band, and hasn't worn her e-ring since the wedding day.

Is this common?

I've never seen this w/ anyone I know.

I switch back and forth with rings. Sometimes (especially holidays, going out, etc.) I will wear my e-ring with my matching band and other times I will just wear my plain band.

Before I got pregnant I still always wore both. Now my wedding band is too tight so I only wear by e-ring but once I can fit both again I plan to keep wearing both. I just love them too much. My wedding band doesn't look right alone either.

That is definitely a matter of preference. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my e-ring and can’t imagine not wearing every day.

ETA: oops, sorry... didn't see the MARRIED women part... even though it was in bold.

ETA again: My mom wears her e-ring every day… and this year my parents will be married 40 years. (yay)

I usually just wear my band to work or the gym.

I don't at all to work. It's bulky, and I worry about stuff happening to it. I also am not a big jewelry person, and have a channel band with diamonds so I wear the ering to dress up but not on the average day.

ETA: I also didn't grow up in LI--I feel like in other parts of the country maybe wearing the e-ring all the time is not as common?

I like to sport as much bling as possible so i'll be wearing both rings.

I do know some people who just wear their wedding band now that they are married.

Mine are either both on or both off. I wear them all the time, sometimes I take them off for the gym or if I'm doing house work and I take them off to shower.

Most of my family members and friends who have kids don't wear the e-ring so much anymore. I have a feeling that I might stop wearing it eventually (on an everyday basis).

I switch.

I love my wedding band solo and think it looks classy. I also, like them together as well, but my e-ring always gets in the way (ie. high setting, which gets caught on a lot of stuff) so it's nice to have an alternative option.

I was so looking forward to being able to wear just the band by itself and now that I'm married, I can do that whenever my heart desires. I like having options

I wear both of them almost every day. I don't wear my e-ring if I am going to work out, work on housework, etc.

my cousin doesn't wear her e-ring to work...because she is a physical therapist in a nursing home....and because the ring is a Marquis it can sometimes scratch her patients.

My other cousin works with children who do not come from well to do families...she doesn't like to be showey in front of these kids....because they already feel like the whole world thinks that they are better than them, because they are poor and don't have much...so she just wears a simple band at work.


My sister didn't wear her ring when her son was 1st born, because it scratched him once while changing his diaper. Now that he is older and she feels a little more comfortable in her role as mom she wears it all the time.

I didn't wear my ring while I was in the hospital....I was afraid of falling asleep with it on, and someone taking it.

I wear my rings together, everyday. I only take them off when cleaning and showering (and exercising, when that happens )

Ever since I had my wedding band, my e-ring now looks complete. They belong together and look lonely without each other

I'll switch around between the original gold wedding band, e-ring, and diamond wedding band.

For special occasions, I'll wear the diamond wedding band with the e-ring.

For house work, I just wear my gold wedding band.

I have quite a few friends who do not wear both together. A few that I know where their e-ring on their right hand.

A lot of the bands that I like I'm not sure would look like they go with my e-ring, plus I have small fingers, so I am planning on wearing it on my right hand after I'm married.

I always wear it! I wear e-ring on right and wedding band on left. I also have a plain platinum band i sometimes wear instead of ering and band when I'm cleaning, food shopping, etc.....

My mom also wears her every day--30 years! although she did upgrade once. :)

When i get married i'm going to wear mine both of them. But i do have a plain band that i might wear to when i don't want to wear my set. In a few years i want to change mine soon to the three stone.

i have not worn mine since the wedding either- the two wide rings together are just uncomfortabel

Since the wedding I ONLY wear my wedding band. When we go "Out" or have a wedding,baptism, eparty whatever I put my ering and wedding band on.

I usually only wear my band unless dressing up. I used to wear both before I had my daughter but it really gets in the way with her. It's a princess cut and I cant tell you how many times I have scratched her with it, so I pretty much wear only my band now. Same with a lot of my other friends who have children.

The only woman I know who doesn't wear her e-ring said that it doesn't fit her finger anymore. All of my coworkers wear both their e-ring and wedding ring.
