Wedding Planners???

OK - maybe I am getting a little too obsessed with watching 'Whose Wedding is it Anyway?" but do you think it is valuable to get a Wedding Planner??? I wonder how costly they are? Does anyone know?

Re: Wedding Planners???

do a search and you will find varying opinions. I don't thin you need one - the matre'd should be there to make sure things go smoothly.

Re: Wedding Planners???

I think it depends, I decided to have one (Rosalie, from Expressions, vendor on here) because I want my day to be very intimate, just me and FH and our group of friends in the bridal party, I didn't want to assign anyone the task of handling things that come up, and I also needed someone to take charge and keep us on schedule, because I am super organized and would hate to be stressed out with my friends not being on time, or not being were they should be, etc etc.

Re: Wedding Planners???

Can anyone tell me how much they typically cost? I may want someone to do the coordination of the wedding day and to make sure that everything is set up correctly and runs smoothly...

Re: Wedding Planners???

The cost of a wedding planner from start to finish is between 10-15% with a minimum of $15,000.

Re: Wedding Planners???

I couldn't live without my planner, Elaine Deluca. She's so helpful and always has an answer and tons of information on just about every wedding topic. I don't have much experience with weddings and my mother lives out of state, so I really needed the extra help.

There are start-to-finish planners who charge a 10-15% fee, but there are also other planners who charge a set fee as well. It's also possible to find a planner to handle your affair for less than $15,000, from my experience at least. I'm using Elaine for the day-of coordinator but I've also consulted with her on other issues, which works for me since I had already booked all my major vendors when I hired her. Her prices are reasonable but not inexpensive. Hope this helps
