Does anyone know of dress shops in Manhattan?
one of my relatives just called me and said she's having a tough time finding a dress for my wedding b/c everything she has seen has spaghetti straps. She's elderly
does anyone have a suggestion?

They have a section for mother of the brides there. My mom got her dress there and it was short sleeve. I saw a lot of dresses with sleeves. I don't know what kind of style your relative likes, but I know they have a big selection.

You can't go wrong with Lord and Taylor - they have such a huge selection...If $$ is not an issue, she should go to Saks. If she is trying to be consservative, Loehmanns or Macys or Filenes Basement.
I would go to the deaprtment stores before MOB stores. I think the selection is better and more varied.

Thanks! I'll let her know about Lord & Taylor and Saks. I don't think $ is an issue for her. But she was complaining to me that the only stuff she found in Dept stores were all strapless and spaghetti straps - definitely not for her! she's very conservative.
