For those that did (or are doing) the rose and hands ceremony...
When are you doing it in the ceremony? Are you doing 2 readings and then the two ceremonies? Can you post your ceremony program or list the order if you know it? TIA
Ex. 1st Reading Hands Ceremony Vows 2nd Reading Rose Ceremony
Really, I don't know when to incorporate the two ceremonies!

Re: For those that did (or are doing) the rose and hands ceremony...
We started getting crazy with too many things... Decided to cut it back a little. We're having our reader read the hand ceremony before the ring exchange. Still need to work out the details with Father Tom though...

I know this isn't directed towards me...but...the Msgr who married us read it to us (we used the version that Stef used - it's more modified and evolved, imo). It was beautiful...

My minister/cousin wanted it to be our vows and I totally voted it down because I know I will cry thru the whole thing!! Instead, my sister/MOH and FH's brother/BM will read the passages to us.

this is the one we used:
May the road rise to meet you May the wind be always at your back May the sun shine warm upon your face And rains fall soft upon your fields And the light of friendship guide your paths
May God be with you and bless you May you see your children's children May you be poor in misfortune, rich in blessings May you know nothing but happiness From this day forward.
May the road rise to meet you May the wind be always at your back May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home And may the hand of a friend always be near.
May green be the grass you walk on, May blue be the skies above you, May pure be the joys that surround you, May true be the hearts that love you.

We have some time to finalize everything, but we're doing the rose ceremony. I think the breakdown is like this: Opening Prayer first Reading Rose Ceremony second reading unity candle vows closing prayer

it's just another optional passage for your ceremony. This is the one we used:
Melissa and Sean, please face each other and take each other’s hands, so you may see the gift that they are to you.
These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and vibrant with love, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as you promise your love and commitment to each other all the days of your life.
These are the hands that will work along side yours, as together you build your future, as you laugh and cry, as you share your innermost secrets and dreams.
These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness.
These are the hands that will lift your chin and brush your cheek as they raise your face to look into the eyes that are filled with overwhelming love and desire for you.
These are the hands that will hold you tight as you struggle through difficult times.
These are the hands that will comfort you when you are sick, or console you when you are grieving.
These are the hands that will give you support and encouragement to chase down your dreams. Because together, as a team, everything you wish for can be realized.
God bless these hands that you see before you this day. May they always be held by one another. Give them the strength to hold on during storms of stress and the dark of disillusionment.
Keep them tender and gentle as they nurture each other in their love. Help these hands to continue building a relationship founded in your grace, rich in caring, and devoted to their love.
May Sean and Melissa see their four hands as healer, protector, shelter and guide.
We ask this in your name, Amen.

We did the Blessing of the Hands, a little different than the one above, it was longer, different saying for my hands, then DH's. I have it on my home computer if you want me to post it later.
ETA: I think we did it after the vows and rings.

I think they have something like that in a Jewish ceremony. The name of it is escaping me though.

yeah there are different versions. I didn't want our ceremony to be too long and some of the gender specific parts to the longer version, didn't "fit" for us.

Re: For those that did (or are doing) the rose and hands ceremony...
Believe it or not Rob & Amber used something similiar to this & I had never seen it before.
Then thanks to hbradio who gave me lovely bridal books, I saw this listed on the back page:
These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow and forever. These are the hands that will work alongside yours as together you build your future, These are the hands that passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch will comfort you like no other. These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief racks your mind. These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes, tears of sorrow and tears of joy. These are the hands that will help you to hold your family as one. These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it. And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.
I LOVE IT! We're definitely going to do it in our ceremony.
