Church and Reception Time Dilema!!!
Hey girls!!! I may have a dilema!! Our church time is going to start at 2:45. We're not having a full mass, just the ceremony. So we'll be done around 3:20 or so. Our reception doesn't start until 7:30!!!! What the heck are we going to do for 4 hours!!!????!!! Is that normal to have all that time in between?? Our reception hall is about 30 minutes from the church so that's not too bad but what do we do with all our guests until CH???

Re: Church and Reception Time Dilema!!!
I was in a wedding in February and we had a long break between Church and Reception, but it went very quickly because we took pictures at Dowling College. In June, the weather is beautiful and you will be able to get so many great shots outside.
I was also in a wedding last July that was at the East Wind and they let us arrive a little early to take pictures on their beautiful grounds and on the amazing staircase at the Inn.
Don't worry about the gap, a lot of people have one.

Re: Church and Reception Time Dilema!!!
I have the same issue. Church at 3pm. Cocktail hour officially starts at 8:30pm but will open at 8pm. I finally decided that I would stop stressing about it. I will take photos. I worried about what my guests would do. This is one day out of all of the years I have known them they can be inconvenienced. I will let my out of county friends relax at my house for the break. Don't worry, just plan.

The four hours will probally go very quickly for you. If you are worried about your guests, you can send out a letter with points of interest around the church and reception hall.

I have the same issue...My church is at 4 & CH starts at 7PM...Majority of the OOT guests will be going back to their hotel & other's might not be at the church (considering I am getting married on a Friday)

Re: Church and Reception Time Dilema!!!
I wouldn't mind that much time in between. OOT people can visit with the locals. And locals have the option of a wardrobe change before the reception! I think that my biggest concern would be wondering if people would just skip the ceremony all together because of the time in between. But I don't think the hours in btwn will be a big deal to most people.
