My Sister's May 29, 2005 Wedding @ The Chateau Briand.... I Updated Limo...
First, I want to thank everyone on LI Weddings, and LI Weddings for being here to help me vent, answer my questions and just be here for me….. I’m doing the review for my sisters wedding, since all of you have seen everything leading up to the big day, such as the shower and bachelorette party.. My sister never really got addicted to LIW as I have, but we feel the same on everything, but I was also able to see some things, she wasn’t really looking for…..
Mother Nature: A+++ As we all know, the weather forecasters said it was suppose to rain all weekend and to our surprise, it was beautiful all weekend!!!!!!
Angel Bridals: A+++ My sister found a great bridal shop in East Islip on Main Street. The owners Vicki & Rosemarie were so nice and helpful. Vicki even opened the shop one day when it was closed for my sister, I forgot for what. She got her Wedding Gown here, which was by Forever Yours, the Brides Maid dresses, which were Bill Levcoff in Euro Lilac, and the flower girl dresses ( I forgot the designer name)…. My sister also got her Tiara and veil here. At first she picked a headpiece, but when we went for the hair trial she didn’t like and Vicki at Angel Bridals just told her to switch it for whatever she likes.. They were very accommodating and made everyone very comfortable. If they don’t carry the dress you want, they can order it for you….
Hair Dressers: A+++ Family friends did everyone’s hair. Noeleen, who we have been seeing for over 12 years did my sister’s hair and did a wonderful job.
Make-Up—Michelle Nocella: A+++ All I can say is WOW!!!!! I posted a make-up question on the vendor board one day and I received a reply from two people. One person stuck out and I called her. Michelle Nocella, is one of the sweetest, most professional people I have come in contact with during all of the wedding planning. She came to my sisters house around 6am, and began working on the girls. She had to do makeup for 8 women. This included the Bride, the moms, and BM’s. She also put a little make-up on the flower girls, which they loved.. The make-up stayed ALL DAY!!!! All we had to do was touch up our lipstick. My sister, and all the girls were very happy, and we all received numerous compliments all night. The make-up did not feel heavy, and was comfortable feeling all day and night. I am very thankful for LIW, b/c I was able to help my sister find a reliable person to do her make-up, and I was also able to find someone to do my make-up for my wedding next year and she is also going to be my Day of Coordinator!!!!! Thank You…….
Village Florists in Huntington: D--- We went there on a recommendation from a friend, and my sister and I found them to be “Pricey” but we liked their work. My sister didn’t want to look further, so, this is who we went with. My sister had 22 people in her Bridal Party, plus 2 Dads, 2 Moms, 4 Grandmas…. And 23 tables at the reception, plus decorations at the church…. WELL…. They delivered the flowers to the house in the morning, and my sister’s Bouquet (The Bride) was the same size as everyone else’s, and she had requested it bigger to stand out. The flower girls had halos and there was to be a little veil in the back, and there was none. The throw away bouquet smelled like Dog Poop!!!! It smelled so bad, that even body spray or perfume couldn’t mask it, so we didn’t bring it. All of the bouquets were to be wrapped in a ribbon my sister picked out, and they were, BUT…. The bouquets were wrapped once with a pipe cleaner and wrapped twice with the ribbon. This led to the bouquets literally falling apart right after the church. The flowers were wilted, and the rose tips were brown and so were some of the petals. By the end of the night all of the bouquets had fallen apart…. The centerpieces were 12 inch bowls w/ a glass pedestal holding a floating rose candle with rose petals around it, and a wreath around the bowl. My sister had to buy the bowls b/c the florist wanted too much money to do it. And she was suppose to have floating orchids in the water and there were none. And the wreath was empty. You could see the green styrofoam that you stick the flowers into. OH… and the guys boutonnieres (sp?) they were just a single rose, which did not last to the reception. All the heads of the flowers popped off!!!! Except for the Groom, he had a calla lily, so it stayed pretty well. I only gave them a D b/c the flowers did look beautiful in the beginning, but the flowers did not last by the time we got to the reception. We were all disappointed and I felt bad for my sister, b/c she wanted a BIG bouquet to stand out, but we still have to discuss this with the florist, and that should be fun!!!!
Westbury Gardens: A I only gave them an A, b/c it was a long walk to where we had to go. It was very hard walking on the grass in shoes, and when you thought it was ok to take off your shoes to walk on the grass, you couldn’t b/c there was goose poop all over!!! But it was very beautiful there, and the pics looked great!!! There was beautiful architectural designs, and the grounds are very well kept.
The Chateau Briand: A My sister probably would’ve gave them an A+++, but there were things that I saw, that I knew she didn’t know about… Such as the bridal suite. We crammed 26 people in little room right before being announced, there were no drinks and not enough room for us to even freshen up. They kept the room locked which was great. But when I needed to get into the room to get things for the Bride or myself or any other girls, I had to chase down the bridal attendant, or someone with a key, and this took a long time each and every time we needed to get in there. The bridal attendant was very sweet, but she was never around my sister when we needed her. But all in all, we had the cocktail hour in the Europa Room, which was beautiful. There was so much food and the bartenders were great. We had the reception in the Normandy room, and there was plenty of room for the 225 guests. My sister had 8 choices for dinner, but mainly everyone went with the Chateau Briand, which was the filet mignon. She had choice of chicken, eggplant, shrimp, salmon and something else, I can’t remember. The cake was delicious. She had cannoli cream, and chocolate filling in a vanilla cake. And it looked great! Then we had the Viennese hour also… There was so much dessert, that we ended up going home with four cakes and 5 big boxes of pastries. Everyone loved it!!! A couple of family members even went home with pastries. There was also ice cream sundaes and espresso. I didn’t get to enjoy it though, b/c I was too busy running around, trying to gather up the table camera, cake toppers and everything else. If you are having your reception here, you will not be disappointed. I just suggest that you make sure your bridal attendant is just that, Your Attendant… And that she is not serving food to the rest of your guests when you need her, I thought that was what the waiters were for. But you will have a great time. They are very attentive to your needs and everything ran very smoothly.
The DJ: A I forgot the DJ’s name, so I’ll have to get back to you with this…. They were good. My sister thinks they were great. I just didn’t like that they had some technical difficulties more than three times. But the DJ himself was very professional.. I’ll go into further detail when I get the name, Sorry…..
Proline Photography: This will get a grade when her pics come back. They used David as their Photographer. He was early coming to the house and took a lot of great shots. He was very nice and professional. The only thing I didn’t like was when we were at the Westbury Gardens, and he wanted the groomsmen to pick up my sister to take a pic. My sister didn’t want to be picked up, but he was insistent, and even pushed me out of the way when my sister was talking to me and asked me to tell him that she didn’t want to be picked up…. My advice to All Brides… If there is a picture or a pose that you do not want tell the photographer before hand, so you don’t have to get upset, self conscience, or embarrassed the day of your wedding.
Alexis Limos: C They were a house Limo from the Chateau. I was very disappointed. The BM’s limo had no radio, the fuse blew, and the rear of the limo was making a loud vibrating banging sound, Oh, it was an Excursion. When My sister’s limo pulled up infront of the church w/ my sister and dad, the limo driver turned off the car and my sister and dad sat with no a/c for 10min, and the limo driver disappeared before they could have them turn it back on. I also found out that my sisters limo had no a/c .
I think I got everything… If there are any specific questions, please feel free to ask. I hope I haven’t upset or offended anyone. My sister looked beautiful the day of her wedding and was very happy with her vendors, except for the florist. I know she would have given higher grades on a few, but I’m trying to be honest…

Oh I also Have Before and after Pics of the Make-up... Once again, The make-up came out great. And Michelle is one of the best people I have ever worked with..
Pics are of my mom first. She had the gastric bypass surgery in November and has lost 95 pounds, so, she wanted to look great, and Michelle made her feel and look great!!!!!

I am happy she got such a beautiful day out!! and thank you for the honest review!! I think sometimes its better a close family member/friend or guest at the wedding give the review then the actual bride!!!
I see what you mean about the flowers!! you can even tell in some of those pictures you posted
