I'm making chocolate bars that say 'thank you for sharing in our special day' and giving out cigars with lables and matches and the place card holders so i was considering not giving a actual wraped favor, but i think in the end i will give a wraped favor as well.

i have seen posts on here where people were giving donations to certain organizations in lieu of a favor.

We are giving matches, jordan almonds in envelopes and our placecards are candles. We are not doing actual favors. IMO they are a waste.

We are not doing favors. We are doing the votive place cards, but that is it. We couldn't find anything we really liked that was different and instead of spending extra $$$ on something we weren't happy with, we opted to not do any.

For people giving donations, how did you do that? Did you put it in each person's name and give each person a card that said that? Or did you make one lump sum donation and just tell everyone... I'm thinking of making a donation, but I'm not sure exaclty how to do it properly.

If you do a search on here for them, you will be able to find pictures. I haven't completed mine yet, but almost done. I just used the frosted votive holders with votive candles( I did a test between votive candles or tea lights and I liked the votives better) and some people used vellum, but I used the clear address labels by Avery and the label# is 8663. I found it much easier then the vellum.

FH and I have decided to make a donation in lieu of favors. We haven't chosen a specific charity yet, but we will definitely be donating to cancer research in honor of family members that we have lost.
