Ok, I have a stupid question for those writing their own vows...
Because I have not seen this in person I have to ask a dumb question...I apologize...
Are you writing your vows down and reading them or are you memorizing them? FH and I want to write our own, but I am so nervous that I am going to be so emotional that I am going to forget exactly what I want to say and mess it up.

FI and i are writing our own bc we arent getting married in a church and i think i will read from it. It will be less stressful that way

We plan on saying out own vows as well.
I suggest that you write them down.
I have seen weddings on tv where they wrote their vows and use the crappiest paper. 
I think writing (typing) it on nice card stock or a nice scroll would be nice.

We are using the traditional vows, but I would definitely write them down.
Having them written down might calm your nerves before the ceremony, and plus you can put the vows in your scrapbook/album afterwords.

I will prob memorize them just bc that's me and I think it will look better. But I will def have it written down and hidden in my BoK that I can pull out so that I can use it as a cheat sheet. He can keep his in his jacket pocket. I'm so afraid after he says his vows that I'll be too choked up to get mine out, with or without the paper to read from!

We asked our officiant to prompt us so we could just repeat after him. It was much easier for us that way!
