Spinoff to card box question
Do we need to have a card box? I know that its a wedding and people do give gifts, but I feel wierd having one. Couldn't people just put their gifts on the same table that we will have favors on? I'm assuming people will take them right away so there will be room. Or is that just a bad idea?

Re: Spinoff to card box question
i think that many people take their favors at the end of the night
also, you may not want to just have envelopes lying around on the table it is much easier for them to get lost or "stolen"
like others have said, wed hate to feel that family and friends would do that, but ya never know

Yeah, but aren't most monetary gifts in the form of a check? I mean, its pretty hard to steal a check.

I also feel funny about putting a box for my wedding presents out there on display. I guess because I have never seen it done before. Then again, I haven't been to a NY wedding in a long time.

Re: Spinoff to card box question
We actually got a lot of checks made out to cash or cash. It was easier because of the name change issue, but worse if it got stolen!

Re: Spinoff to card box question
Is anybody doing something other than a card box? If so, what are you doing? Thanks!

Re: Spinoff to card box question
a lot of brides get little white bags that they carry around to put the cards in...
for our e-party, all of our cards had cash in them... and i twas a real PIA carrying them around and finding a place to put them, because you dont want to leave them just lying around... i defiantely suggest getting something to put them in, or maybe getting someone to be in charge of watching them or holding on to them...
