Subbing tomorrow for the first time
Wish me luck - I've got first graders - and I've never taught first grade 
Hopefully they're not too wild with the 3 day weekend.
Anyone have any good tips for a first time sub? Thanks!

I didn't get tears until about 2 minutes before the bell! I was doing so well.
Overall, it went well. I did have an incident when a girl rolled her backpack into a boy at the end of the day (which lead to the tears). Though, honestly, by that point I wanted to do the same thing - he was driving me NUTS!
But, I mean, it was beautiful down here (80 degrees), right before a 3 day weekend, and they only have 7 more days of school left. So, honestly, I think it went well considering the circumstances

Oh, could you? That would be swell!
I'm getting so frustrated - I need a job already!
But, for now, i must stop complaining, and head up to my dads. And work on my suprised face since I still don't know that my shower is tomorrow and not sunday 
Pains in my asses.

I subbed for the first time in my life at the end of April, for a fellow LIWer (kelly4), so I know exactly what you're going through! I've subbed every day since, and let me tell you, it gets easier the more you do it. I'm happy to hear your first day went well. Keep us in the loop on your next subbing adventures. Every class is so different!
