NWR-hotel res. for friends' wedding

hey girls-
our friends are having a super lavish black tie wedding in ct in august- they blocked rooms at a fancy hotel and got a great rate of $109 per night. BUT I looked online and can get a smaller room for $89 per night- I know it is only $20 but money is money!! am I terribly cheap to get the less expensive one?

Go for it! Like you said, money is money and right now it's tight. Just know that your room prob won't be near the others. But as long as that doesn't bother you, I'd get the less expensive room.

we are not even friends with most of the other guests- these people are very wealthy and kind of a jet-setting crowd- we are always the paupers of the group when we hang out- why change things now?

Huh? For $20 don't you want to stay where everyone else is staying? Yes, IMO I think you should splurge and go that extra mile.

another thing is- just because rooms are blocked doesn't nec. mean they are all together- at our hotel it is not like that either.

Re: NWR-hotel res. for friends' wedding

Depends, I'd probably want to stay where everyone else is staying. For $20, at least.

But, if you're not going to hang out before/after with everyone, then go with the cheaper room.

That's a good rate for a NYC hotel anyway.

Re: NWR-hotel res. for friends' wedding

Oh - I was under the impression it was a smaller room in the same hotel that everyone else was in. I would say stay with the others if it is only a $20 difference.

save yourself the $...it's more than $20 if you think about taxes and any room fees they may have
