Military Brides - or brides with military family members - question re: lodging!
Good morning, My dad just told me that he doesn't have a hotel booked and can't afford anything at all (thanks dad, my wedding is only next week! ). I have tried calling a few bases with lodging but was lucky enough to get married during fleet week. Can you ladies suggest places to call for military lodging on base? Thanks so much!

Did you try the Merchant Marine Academy or SUNY Maritime? I believe half of Maritime is still "regiment" so they might be able to help him out. What about that base right off the CIP...I can't remember the name of it now...
Edited to say: i'm not a military bride, but FH works at USMMA

What about a military discount at some other hotels. I know they offer them i use them all the time. Marriott and hampton inns give good discounts.

Thanks much - do you have any info on the MMA? I will totally look into it!
ktdtlc - the discounts are not enough, my dad can't afford anything over $100 per night. Luckily, military lodging IS under that...so I just have to call around. But thanks so much!

Sorry the only reason i suggested it was becasue i thought you said you couldn't find anything on base. Have you ever looked on military.com they always list discounts available maybe that can help.

I know...thanks for the suggestion. Normally, that's not a bad price but since he has to pay for plane tickets for 5 and rent a car, he has no $$ for hotels. I'm ging to keep calling Navy Lodging in SI, they are booked but the lady guaranteed me that they'll have a cancellation...so keep your fingers crossed! Thanks so much ladies!

yep yep yep, what they said, hubby is a Marine and you should get discounts at local hotels, and getting married during fleet week may be a great plus for that situation, they may be offering great discounts for military because it is fleet week.
