Need help on Ebay: Please give me tips (repost from 05 board)
Okay, I WANT to win this bid . Should I go ahead and place in my maximum bid for the automatic bidding or should I wait until the last day (gosh I hope I don't forget). Please help me!! I want to WIN this BID!!!!
I always lose the bid and I want to win this one.

no! don't place your max bid yet! All that will do is drive up the cost of the item.
Wait until it's MUCH closer (I hope you can be present when the auction is ending), then depending on how high the bidding is, bid accordingly. ONLY put in your max bid in the last few minutes, when things start to get crazy.
I've never lost an auction that I wanted!

Okay, I WANT to win this bid for an MJ jersey that I found on Ebay (going to be FH gift). RIght now the price is $500 and the auction ends in 3 days. The jersey is already framed. You can put your maximum bid, but I was told by an "ebay seller" that they used to have friends and family bid to get the price higher.
My recommendation would be to click on the "watch this bid". You will receive an e-mail just before the bid ends. I did that last week with a bid that ended today...I got an e-mail 4 hours before the bid would have ended.

Yea def do not bid until right before it ends. Otherwise it will just drive the price up...probably beyond your limit.
