QOTD: Are you calling your FMIL and FFIL, Mom and Dad?
I don't have a FMIL (she passed away), but I am not calling FFIL Dad. Or at least I don't plan on it...What about everyone else?

definitely calling them mom and dad. It makes them SOOOO happy and that makes it worth it for me :) FH already calls my mom, mom. It's so cute

I call my FILs by their first names and have been for years, so I think it will be most natural to keep it that way after the wedding.

Yes, I guess I have to. My FH has already mentioned that he will be calling my parents "mom &dad" so I suppose its only right. However I hate the idea.

I am on the fence with this. I am so close to losing my father to illness that I don't think I am ready to use that name towards someone else just yet. I think it will be something to ease into for both parents.

I don't think I can do that. I have wonderful parents (FH also does), and just can't see myself calling them mom and dad. With that said I don't feel right calling them by their first names either. If at all possible I try not to address them b/c I'm not sure what to call them. My FBIL calls FH's parents Mr & Mrs which drives me nuts b/c I think it is so formal, we are family!! He has known them for over 10 years. I've been told it is a southern thing and is respectful, I'm just not used to it.

Same here! I won't have a FMIL (she passed when FI was a child) and I've been calling FFIL by his first name since day one (not a typical father!).

I said "Ma" to my FMIL when I first got engaged because we both giggled when I said it. But I call her by her first name now... she's not my mom.

I try very hard, but out of habit, it comes out Mr and Mrs. I have known them since I was 18, and that is what I have always called them. It is also a little strange for me because both of my parents have passed away... It's hard to explain. something I worry about though -- traditional Italian family -- I think they think it is disrespectful if I don't call them mom and dad.
