anyone know what this means?
So, I went to my doctor, you know, THAT one? last week for my annual checkup, and Lord knows I can't ever go to the doc and have everything be fine.....
Among other things, he said I have blood in my....you know....pee pee.
I went back this week....same thing.
Now I have to go to a urologist. I have heard these symptoms point to the kidneys, and I have noticed some twinges in my lower back near the kidney area, thought it was my usual siatic (sp) acting up occasionally.
Anyone ever have this, what does it mean?
Going next Friday to the urologist, just wanted some info...

I don't want to scare you with what it can mean because it can be a number of things. Get to the doctor as quickly as possible and take care of yourself

I had something similar- mine was a kidney infection.

when i get a pain like that, it usually means a bladder or kidney infection. go to the doc.

Doc's assistant said it sounds like a stone, just another thing to add to my list of ailments!!!!
She said to alleve any discomfort with tylenol and drink a lot of fluids. They'll confirm with an x-ray on Friday.
I guess that's good news?

I've had that with UTIs--drink lots of cranberry juice (can't hurt either way!). My brother had that from kidney stones...I think you would know if you had them though--apparently incredibly painful...

If it's a stone, I'm waiting for the incredible pain! Then again men are such sissies!
If I can take some of the surgeries I've had, a stone should be nothing a little Vicodin can't take care of!

I just had a similar situation. I did have a UTI and had blood in my urine. I get these often!
I went to see a urologist (sp?) who is sending me to get an x-ray of my kidney.
I dont know about the pain in your lower back but in can be your kidney and maybe an infection has traveled there.
A UTI can mean an infection in your kidney.
I get lower back pain that feels like siactic(sp?)
but I know its associated with something else.
Do u have to go for further tests?
